Krunker Stylized Bundle Trailer — Commissioned Animation

Krunker Stylized Bundle Trailer — Commissioned Animation

Story

This was my first animation I made for FRVR Games. I was beyond stoked when I was asked to make this for Vince. For the first time I had access to in-game assets that wasn't even publicly released yet.

The Scene Environment

In the environment design, the goal was to make the skin bundle appear colossal. I built the scene using multiple layers of structures and characters to reinforce a sense of scale, while strategically placing a large number of light sources to suggest how much illumination is required to bring the massive, dark environment to life.

Additional Details

Since this was one of my first animations, the scene relied heavily on static assets with motion driven primarily through slow camera pans and framing. This limitation worked in my favor, as introducing complex character rigs and full-body animation at this stage would have significantly increased the risk of technical failure. To counter the sense of visual stagnation, I incorporated secondary motion—subtle leg articulation and mechanical armor displacement—to simulate life and kinetic energy within the frame.

Inspiraton

This cinematic was heavily inspired by Pacific Rim, particularly the iconic suit-up sequence. From the industrial lighting design to the overall mechanical concept, the scene draws directly from that visual language. Although the film was ultimately not published on FRVR Games’ official social channels for Krunker, the project was still completed as a commissioned piece and I was compensated for the work. Below is the outro frame, inspired by VALORANT trailer endings, where an alternate version of the main score is used as a rewind motif. The music revisits the core theme of the animation, creating a sense of closure while looping the viewer back into the world of the film.
