The opening frame was fully reconstructed. To create the artificial mountains, we started with iPhone 14 footage of Atticus Wei standing at the edge, looking into the distance. He and the snow beneath him were rotoscoped so we could composite new mountains seamlessly behind the snow line. We then sourced mountain plates online, specifically choosing ones with strong dark rock contrast so Atticus’s white outfit would remain visually dominant in the frame. After compositing, the shot was motion-tracked so the background mountains could match the camera movement. Finally, atmospheric snow and volumetric fog layers were added to introduce depth, simulate aerial perspective, and create a more cinematic sense of scale and immersion.
